Reed Harradine recently transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. He currently serves as the first-string kicker and kickoff specialist for the Golden Eagles, building on a strong foundation established during his time with the Grambling State University football team. A member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Mr. Harradine combines academic focus with athletic ambition as he works toward a future in or alongside the NFL.
His passion for sports began with soccer. Growing up with a father who coached the sport, Mr. Harradine started playing as soon as he could walk. He later earned goalkeeper positions in both the Elite Competitive National League and the Olympic Development Program. In 2022, he helped lead his Mountain Brook High School team to a state championship, a season highlighted by a five-game shutout streak and eight shutouts across 18 matches. During this time, he also refereed youth soccer for ages eight to twelve, further deepening his understanding of the game.
Continuous improvement has always defined Mr. Harradine’s athletic development. At the age of 14, he began training with Coach Mike McCabe of One On One Kicking, a nationally recognized football kicking program. Through years of dedicated work, he developed specialized skills in placekicking and punting—abilities that continue to shape his football career. He remains an offseason trainee with One On One Kicking and regularly works with young athletes in the Birmingham, Alabama area, mentoring aspiring kickers and punters.
While attending Grambling State University, Mr. Harradine pursued a degree in accounting and finance and played as the team’s first-string kicker and kickoff specialist. His academic success earned him induction into the National Society of Leadership and Success during the fall 2024 semester. He also gained work experience as a server at the Park Ave Diner in Ruston, Louisiana.
Outside of football, Mr. Harradine enjoys golf and fishing. His commitment to both academics and athletics continues to guide his path as he prepares for professional opportunities in the world of sports and finance.
